昂立外語【新概念培訓】分享的小詞lie,今天我們來看看lie的有趣用法吧。lie是中考考綱單詞，兩種詞性，意思頗多，變化錯綜復雜，有“躺下，坐落，說謊，放置”同學們印象中好像還有“下蛋”是不是？怎一個暈字了得？今天我們一起來總結一下：
作為動詞，lie主要有兩方面含義：
1.躺下；位于… lie-lay-lain-lying
在Webster字典中的解釋為：
a. of a person or animal or of things : to be in a flat position on a surface (such as a bed)
eg. The doctor asked him to lie on the bed.
即：（人）躺著；(物)落在低處
She likes to lie on the grass to enjoy the sunshine with her pet dog.
她喜歡和她的愛犬躺在草地上沐浴陽光。（圖）
Snow lay thick on the ground。
雪鋪落在地上。

Snow lay thick on the ground. The woman knew that the nearest village was miles away.
地上積著厚厚的雪，女人知道最近的村莊在幾英里以外。

小山村坐落在寂靜的山谷里。

Although the bed was smashed to pieces, the man was miraculously unhurt. When he woke up, he was still on the mattress. Glancing at the bits of wood and metal that lay around him, the man sadly picked up the mattress and carried it into his house.
的木頭金屬碎片，他難過地撿起床墊抬回了房間。
（這里lay是lie的過去式）
tips:人躺著，那么將建筑物想象成也“躺在”某處，自然翻譯成“位于，坐落于”的含義，不難發現這兩個動詞含義想通。可聯想記憶。

在Webster字典中的解釋為：
to say or write something that is not true in order to deceive someone :
說謊
lie to sb. 對某人撒謊
eg.
I can't believe you lied to me.
我無法相信你對我撒了謊。
She was lying when she told her parents that she had spent the afternoon studying.
她告訴父母著急整個下午都在學習是在撒謊。
lie作為名詞，譯為“謊言”(C)
在Webster字典中的解釋為：
something untrue that is said or written to deceive someone
