事實細節題（Factual Information Questions）是新托福每次必考題型，而且每次題量較多，通常每篇文章3-6個左右。

問題形式

這種題型要求考生們識別出文章明確闡述的事實信息。這些事實信息問題主要集中于事實、細節、定義或者作者闡述的其他信息。這種題型一般要求考生辨識文章某一部分提到的具體信息，不會問及整篇文章的主旨。通常情況下，相關信息可能是一句話或兩句話。

這種題目的提問方式通常為：

It should be obvious that cetaceans--- whales, porpoises, and dolphins--- are mammals. They breathe through lungs, not through gills, and give birth to live young. Their streamlined bodies, the absence of hind legs and the presence of a fluke and blowhole cannot disguise their affinities with land dwelling mammals. However, unlike the cases of sea otters and pinnipeds (seals, sea lions, and walruses, whose limbs are functional both on land and sea), it is not easy to envision what the first whales looks like.
