昂立外語【新概念培訓】分享illusion及其相近單詞。illusion這個詞是新三Lesson 41 Illusions of Pastoral Peace 中出現的詞。
pastoral 是“田園般的”，而peace 是“寧靜”。乍一看文章標題，我們可能會誤以為“寧靜的田園生活的遐想”講的是作者對于田園生活是充滿向往與熱愛之情的，然而通讀全文我們卻發現作者羅列出田園生活的種種不足之處，甚至舉出具體的例子來諷刺那些嘴上說喜歡田園生活的人，相反，他卻為城市生活列出種種優點，可見作者是喜歡城市生活而厭惡鄉村生活的。由此大家可以得知illusion并非是個“好詞”。
來看一下字典中illusion的釋義“a false idea or belief, especially about sb. or about a situation”一個“false”便給illusion打下一個烙印，illusion因此變成了“壞詞”（貶義詞）
給大家一個例句來感受一下：
She’s under the illusion that she’ll get the job.
=She believes wrongly that she’ll get the job.
她存有幻想，認為她會得到那份工作。
例句中under the illusion 也可以說成cherish the illusion, 意為“懷有... 幻想”
Lesson 46 Do It Yourself 中出現一個單詞 “delusion”(a false belief or opinion about yourself or your situation)
錯覺，妄想�？瘁屃xdelusion 與illusion兩者很相似，然而delusion這個詞更嚴重哦，它多用來形容“精神病人產生的幻覺”如: the delusions of the mentally ill (精神病患者的妄想)
Lesson 49 The Ideal Servant 中又出現一個詞“disillusion”是illusion 加上否定前綴dis-，它在字典中釋義為“to destroy sb’s belief in or good opinion of sb./sth.”使醒悟、使不再抱有幻想、使幻想破滅。disillusion這個詞可是很“無情”的哦。
如：I hate to be the one that will disillusion him.
我不想成為讓他幻想破滅的那個人。
現在再給大家一個講義上的例子，可以講illusion 與disillusion
結合起來記憶：
Love is the child of illusion and parent of disillusion.
（illusion→love→disillusion）
愛是幻想之子，幻滅之母。
（幻想→愛→幻滅）
