用作動詞 verb
1．If you cover something, you place something else over it in order to protect it, hide it, or
close it. 表示“蓋”意思
例：Cover the casserole with a tight-fitting lid.
用緊實的蓋子把砂鍋蓋住。
2. If one thing covers another, it has been placed over it in order to protect it, hide it, or
close it. 表示“蓋住”意思
例：His finger went up to touch the black patch which covered his left eye.
他的手指抬起來去摸蓋在他左眼上的黑眼罩。
3. If one thing covers another, it forms a layer over its surface. 表示“覆蓋”意思
例：The clouds had spread and covered the entire sky.
烏云鋪開，遮蔽了整個天空。
4.To cover something with or in something else means to put a layer of the second thing
over its surface. 表示“鋪蓋”意思
例：The desk was covered with papers.
書桌上鋪了些報紙。
5. If you cover a particular distance, you travel that distance. 表示走過 (一段距離)意思
例：It would not be easy to cover ten miles on that amount of petrol.

6. An insurance policy that covers a person or thing guarantees that money will be paid
