之前記錄了一些新概念中最常出現的兩種動物：貓和狗
今天來討論一些除了cat和dog以外的其他動物習語：
一、與“DUCK”有關的習語和詞組
1、 like water off a duck’s back (尤指批評)不起作用，對牛彈琴。
Their hints about his behaviour were like water off a duck’s back. 他們示意他舉止不當，如同對牛彈琴。
2、 a dead duck 被放棄或將失敗的事物。
The plan is a dead duck: there is no money. 計劃告吹了，因為沒有錢。
3、 a lame duck 處于困境無法自理的人，組織或事物。
The government should not waste money supporting lame ducks.政府不應浪費資金去扶持那些無前景的企業。
二、與“BIRD” 有關的習語和詞組
1、 a little bird told me that... 我聽說 (但我不告訴你我是怎么知道的)。
A little bird told me that you had been caught cheating in the English exam. 我聽說你英語考試時作弊被逮到了。
2、 like a bird 運轉良好。
My new car goes like a bird. 我的新車行駛自如。
3、 a home bird 喜歡呆在家里的人。
He is a real home bird. He seldom takes part in the social events. 他老是呆在家里，很少出去參加社交活動。
三、與其它動物有關的習語和詞組
1、 monkey business 騙人的把戲，惡作劇。
There’s been some monkey business going on here. 有人在這里搞鬼。
2、 a bear-hug 緊緊地摟住。
3、 parrot-fashion 鸚鵡學舌般地
If you learn English parrot-fashion, you’ll never know what English is. 如果你只是死記硬背英語，你將永遠學不會英語。
4、 have a frog in one’s throat 失音或嗓音嘶啞。
5、 run with the hare and hunt with the hounds 兩面都討好。
